Shrek
Adrian Jewell
Adrian is a junior this year. He is involved in the musical, show choir, football, and track. This is Adrian’s first year in the musical and is very honored to have a lead role. He is proud to be involved in so many activities and looks forward to his success in life. Adrian would like to thank his family for their support and love throughout his high school career. He knows that nothing would be possible without them.

Jenna Martin
Jenna, a junior at SHS, is in her 6th production with Sparta Spotlight Players, her favorites including Mamma Mia and Mary Poppins. “To any kid in the audience tonight, sit back and enjoy because you never know when it’ll be you up on that stage.” She wants to thank everyone who has made this experience possible such as the amazing directors and her supportive family. “I’m forever grateful for this opportunity so get comfortable and enjoy Fiona The Musical.”

Grace, filled with excitement, is a senior in high school and participating in her first musical at SHS. Other than theatre, she’s a part of Upstage Adrenaline. After graduation she plans on attending UWEC for rehabilitation science. She wants to thank her family, the members of the cast and crew, and the directors for making this such a wonderful experience.

Joshua Smith
Joshua C. Smith is a Junior at Sparta High School. He was supposed to be Franklin Hart in last years “9-5”. However, it ended before it started. He enjoys playing football, wrestling, and track. Josh is very excited to be a part of production this year and hopes everyone enjoys it. He would like to thank everybody who supports the music department and the musical itself.

Colin is a senior this year and this will be his second production at Sparta High. Colin has played as an ensemble member in Mamma Mia and now he’s Lord Farquaad this year. He’s also in show choir, and will be playing tennis this year. After graduation, Colin plans on attending UW Stout for Computer Science.

Max is a Junior. This is their first production they’ve done at Sparta. They enjoy doing art and are the art club president. They are really excited to be a part of such an amazing group of people that helps them to be the best that they can be. Max is looking forward to next year’s musical even though this one isn’t even done yet.

Celia is a sophomore this year and this will be her first production at SHS. She’s also involved in Upstage Adrenaline show choir at SHS. She is very grateful to get to be part of this amazing group, and hopes everyone loves the show. Irene is a junior and is excited to be a part of her first SHS production. Having been Miss Scarlet in CLUE and props manager for Alice in Wonderland, Irene is ready to back into acting for the first time since freshman year. In addition to the musical, she is also involved in art club, band, robotics, Science Olympiad, and NHS. Irene is forever grateful for the opportunity and community the music department has given her and to her friends and family for their endless support.

Anna is so excited to be a Senior this year, and is participating in her 3rd musical with SHS. She was previously in Cinderella as the Shy Women, and in Mamma Mia as part of the ensemble. She has also been a part of Sparta’s Upstage Adrenaline Show Choir for 4 years. She plans to attend college in the fall of 2022 for Pre-Optometry. She would like to thank her friends, family, cast, crew, and directors for making this her best year. “Let your freak flag wave, let your freak flag fly!”

Elena is a Senior this year and it is her second and final production at Sparta High. She was in the ensemble for Mamma Mia! her sophomore year and is now the Wicked Witch, Duloc Dancer, and Tap Dancing Rat. Elena is also involved in Sparta High’s Upstage Adrenaline She plans to attend UW Oshkosh for nursing in the fall. She wants to thank her family and friends for putting up with her busy schedule and always being supportive!

Parker is an 8th grader at Sparta Middle School. This is his first musical, he became interested in theater after he did Upstage Adrenaline show choir camp. He’s in basketball and cross country, and wants to join in high school as well. He’s very excited to be part of this year's musical and is thankful for the cast and crew for being so inviting and helpful.

Emily Mason
Emily is a junior with this being her first production at Sparta High school. She's involved in Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Upstage Adrenaline, Science Olympiad, 4H, as well as rabbit showing through ARBA. She plays over a dozen instruments with her favorites being flute, piano, and vocal. After high school she plans on pursuing a major in Music Performance <specifically flute> and joining an orchestra.

Jackie, a sophomore in high school, gets to experience her first production with SHS, and it won’t be her last. She has loved working with this incredibly talented group that she’s proud to call her “found family.” It never smells like butt working with them. Jackie is so grateful for everyone involved in this production, for making this such an amazing experience.

Alli is a junior this year. This will be her second show, after being an ensemble member in Mamma Mia. Alli has participated in Upstage Adrenaline throughout high school, and loves anything music-related. She would like to thank her parents and directors for the time and effort they have put into making her dreams a reality, and the immense support she has gotten.

Mackensy is a junior in highschool. This is her first production at SHS. She is so happy she took the opportunity to join this production. She has met so many amazing friends that mean so much to her. So she wants to give a big thanks to the cast and crew that helped make this production fun as well as thank her family who has been supportive throughout this whole thing.

Nadia Tovar
This is Nadia’s first time under the lights of the stage, yet she doesn’t lack experience in the field of theater. Her freshman year she was the stage manager for Mamma Mia; now onto her junior year, she is excited to perform as a part of the Shrek Cast. She enjoys playing tennis and soccer and performing for Upstage Adrenaline. She would like to thank her parents, Monique and Jose Tovar, for supporting her throughout all the craziness.

A sophomore in high school, this is Mya's second production with SHS. Though she has done productions with other groups. Mya's first ever musical was Mary Poppins, where she played Jane! She would like to give a huge shout out to the new family she’s found in this group, she doesn't know what she'd do without ya'll.

Phoebe Schwarz is a sophomore this year. Phoebe plays as the Blind Mouse #1, a Duloc Dancer, and a skeleton in this year's production Shrek the Musical. Shrek will be her first SHS production she will be a part of. Outside of the musical, Phoebe is a member of Upstage Adrenaline and spends most of her time singing and dancing. She would like to thank the awesome cast for their kindness and patience through the process of creating such an amazing show, and her family for always being so supportive.

Bri is a sophomore at Sparta Highschool, this is her first production at Sparta but she’s been in other productions before. She took part in the play, “Jack and the Beanstalk,” and other small productions, but this has been her favorite so far. Other than participating in “Shrek the Musical” and volunteering at the House of Shadows, she always tries to make time to be with her family, the people she values most. “Thank you to the directors who put everything into this show and dealt with my crazy schedule. You made everything happen and we couldn’t have done it without you in a million years.”

Isaac is a 10th grader. Currently, this would be his first SHS production, though he also was going to be a part of 9-5 in 2020 for SHS. He also was going to be in Annie Jr in 8th grade, but that got canceled due to COVID. Isaac also enjoys doing upstage adrenaline show choir with SHS. He would like to thank his grandmother for pushing him to join this show.

Kim Webb
Kim is the most excited of them all being in this production. They’re usually seen doing music related electives and after school activities such as Show Choir, Band, and obviously the Musical. Speaking of, they have been in Mamma Mia 2019 and are ready to defrost their boots after 2 years to perform in the best movie ever to be made: Shrek. Being in the ensemble with all their friends has been a blast and walking on that stage to perform for classmates, teachers, people from outside my area will be the biggest mind explosion since Tsar.

Aubrey is a freshman this year. This is Aubrey’s first SHS production. Outside of musicals, Aubrey also participates in Show Choir and figure skating. She also enjoys painting in her free time. Aubrey would also like to thank her mother and father for pushing her to do Shrek the Musical and pushing her to try her best at it. She would also like to thank all her new friends in the musical for believing in her.

Kira is a sophomore, and this is her first production at SHS ever. Throughout the confusing and busy year, the musical has been a constant source of support for her to rely on. Kira would like to thank her friends and family for encouraging her to join musical, and helping her work on choreo, since that’s obviously the hardest part.

Kalista is a junior this year and this will be her first production at SHS. Kalista has been part of many musicals. She’s also involved with the crew for Upstage Adrenaline show choir and archery at SHS. She loves to act, sing, and dance, anything to show off her talent and tell others that they can do anything they put their mind to. She wants to give a special thanks to her family, old directors, and dance teachers for giving her the courage to put herself out there. She is very excited to perform shrek the musical and hopes to have the best performance of her life.

Kaitlyn is a 5th grader this year. Shrek is her first theater production, but she has been watching them for as long as she can remember. Kaitlyn has also been a member of Girl Scouts for 2 years, and she loves to draw. She has had so much fun, and would like to thank her sister, who encouraged her to join the musical.

Julie has been teaching English for 37 years! She had the privilege of teaching/working with both Camie Schnieder (at Aquinas) and Skyler Erickson (at Sparta) in the classroom and on stage as she used to direct plays and musicals. This is her first venture back to acting since her high school days all those years ago! A big thank you to Skyler, Camie and the rest of the cast for giving her the opportunity to “trod the boards” once more - but this will be the last time! She also wants to thank her family for all of their support and understanding through this process! Break a leg!

​​Jacob is currently in his 8 year at SHS as a Social Studies teacher. This is his first time on stage for SHS but has been involved in musicals/plays back when he was in high school. Jacob wants to thank Skyler and Camie for all the hard work and time put in for this show. Jacob also wants to thank his wife for putting up with his practicing of choreography the past month!

Destinee is in 7th grade. This is her first SHS production. During her free time, she can be seen on her phone or with her family. Another thing Destinee enjoys is hanging out with her friends, which she would like to thank for supporting her while doing this production. She is also thanking her family for allowing her to do theater.

Jordan Johnson
Jordan is a junior and is involved with band, jazz band, show choir, soccer and tennis, as well as his first year in musical. With his full schedule, Jordan has been working hard to keep up with all of his involvements. He really enjoyed set building with everybody for 14 hours and he enjoys listening to everybody sing while he just dances.
