Artistic Director

Skyler Erickson

Skyler is a 2009 Sparta graduate and a 2013 graduate from Viterbo University with a BFA Musical Theatre degree. Throughout his high school, college and professional career he has been in over 45 productions and has also directed and choreographed numerous show choirs and musicals. After graduating college, he moved to Las Vegas and worked for many show and talent agencies on and off the strip. He’s performed shows through hotel/casinos such as the Bellagio, MGM Grand, Venetian, and Planet Hollywood. He was in a national commercial for Johnny Appleseed, a tour Motwon show and most recently can be seen in the movie “Show Dogs” with Will Arnett. Skyler also just finished his run this summer as the role of Sky in Lacrosse Community Theaters production of “Mamma Mia”. Skyler directed Sparta High schools Musical “Guys and Dolls” last year and is thrilled to be back directing once again, this year directing the Musical Production of Cinderella!

Choreographer

Jen TeBeest

Jen has taught and choreographed in La Crosse, Winona, and surrounding areas since 1999.  She has choreographed over 20 musicals; working with area high schools, community theaters, dance schools, non-profit organizations, and universities.  Jen has participated in numerous dance festivals and intensive workshops, and was fortunate to work with Broadway tap legend, Ted Levy.  Jen holds a B.A. in English from Viterbo University with studies in Dance and Art, and is presently pursuing an M.A. in Licensed Mental Health Counseling with a Specialty in Dance Movement Therapy at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. Jen currently serves as a dance instructor at UW-La Crosse, Winona State University, St. Mary’s University, and La Crosse Dance Centre, LLC.

Tech Director - Lights & Rigging

Matthew Rightmire

Matt is a lecturer and the Scene Shop Supervisor at UW-La Crosse. He has worked with regional theatres such as Opera Omaha and the Alpine Theatre Project (Whitefish, MT), and served as the Technical Director for the Eau Claire Children’s Theatre. He earned his MFA in Theatre Design & Production from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In his free time, he enjoys performing as a magician and juggler.

Music Director/Assistant Director

Camie Schneider

Ms. Schneider is a graduate from Winona State University where she received her bachelors in Music Education with an emphasis in voice and piano. She the vocal music teacher and one of the musical theatre directors at Sparta High School. She has directed over 25 productions at a variety of venues in the surrounding area. She was nominated for Outstanding Musical Direction in Wisconsin High School Theatre in 2016, through the Madison Overture Center’s Jerry Awards, and won this award in 2017. Ms. Schneider also continues performing on stage each summer. She loves being able to direct and work with such talented performers during the school year and perform on stage during the summer. "I'm so proud of this cast and crew. They continue to work hard and are such kind individuals. I love coming to rehearsals every day...even when they get to be 12 hour days. Thank you for being the amazing people you are!"

Orchestra Director

Ellen Hemstock

Ellen is a retired music teacher who loves musical theatre.  She has worked on 25+ shows here at Sparta High School. “I want to thank the parents for their tremendous support.  I also want to thank the businesses in our community who continue to give generously toward the musical program at the high school.  We couldn’t do this without all the help we have received. Thank you to all who have contributed in any way toward our musical.”

Costumer

Kris Peterson

Kristine Peterson holds a Bachelors Degree from UWL in theatre and a Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) in Costume Design and Technology from Florida State University.  She has designed for many Sparta school and community events over the years ranging from Sparta Madrigal, plays and musicals to community theatre with Summit Spirits.  More recently, credits include Jesus Christ Superstar, Pentecost, Much Ado About Nothing, The Full Monty, and many more. Kris also has education in vocal performance and piano from UW River Falls and taught voice and piano for many years.  Her performance credits include Little Women, Call Me Madame!, Fiddler on the Roof, and more.  Currently, Kris lives in Holmen, WI but is a former resident of Sparta.  All of Kris’s children (Adam, Erin and Maggie) graduated from Sparta HS.

Kris would like to thank her family and friends for their support and encouragement over the years.  She especially wants to thank Maggie for being an excellent design assistant and for all her help and beautiful work with this production of Cinderella.
